Marty’s Wedding

We got back from Orlando on Tuesday after a very nice trip. Two days in Orlando in the summertime is brutal, but we had a great time. The wedding went off without a hitch, although Marty was sweating more than anyone I’ve ever seen.

I’ve got a bunch of digital shots, which I’ll try to get up this weekend.

Pleasure Island (the Disney nightclub park thing) is among the weirdest places I’ve ever been. Every night they have “New Years” where Auld Lang Syne comes on, and they shoot off some fireworks at midnight. The clubs are all very clean, have large, clean, well-lit bathrooms with no lines, and they play the music just loud enough to feel it, but soft enough that it doesn’t do permanent damage. All the ‘clubs’ have names that convey the theme, but it’s vaguely creepy. Also, they have women running around in nurse outfits selling jello shooters in large hypodermics… That’s just wrong.

MGM was a lot of fun. We went there before we flew back, after we put Marty and Deanna on the plane. Tower of Terror was very cool and scary, but doesn’t really drop you enough to really get the adrenaline pumping. The Rock and Roll roller coaster is proof that you can take what would be a decent coaster and put it in a big dark room and make it terrifying.

I’ve been playing a bunch of Planetside. I’m really enjoying it alot. The lack of 14-year old fucktards that plague Battlefield:1942 really make it much more fun. I just got Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic to review for September, so I’ll be playing that and Will Rock in the next week or two.

That’s it for now. I’ll post some pics from the wedding this weekend.
