One Chapter to Go!

The book is almost done. It’s all sent in to the publisher except for one chapter :)

Woo!

I’ve got a giant stack of games and books downstairs waiting on me.

Full Spectrum Warrior, Ninja Gaiden, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Painkiller, the EA 2004 baseball game, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and Thief 3. I plan on doing some serious playing real soon now.

I’m about halfway through the sequel to Red Mars, and I expect to have that done next. After that I’m going to either blow through the third book in the trilogy, or skip over to the Song of Susannah, the second to last Dark Tower book.

I’ve now been reading the Dark Tower books for almost fifteen years. I’m not sure if I’m excited for them to end, or sad that the end is nigh. For a long time, the fact that I read a series from Stephen King was something I was ashamed of. The thing is, the books are unlike anything I’ve ever read before. They tell a story that’s part Western, part science fiction, part drama, part fantasy. They describe a world that’s so rich with detail that they seem like the kind of place you could accidentally end up if you take a wrong turn on your way out of Manhattan. The characters are extremely compelling and real. But most of all, I haven’t the foggiest what’s going to happen when I read the final volume this fall.

Anyway, it’s late and I’ve rambled on. Time for sleep. You can expect more regular updates starting next week.

I'll definitely give it a look. I've got a giant stack of books to read right now, but I just read the blurb at Amazon and it looks interesting.

I don't know if you read any non-fiction. If you do, have you read "The Discoverers" by Daniel Boorstein? It is the densest book I have ever read. Dense in the sense that every sentence contains so much information that you must spend time with each page in the book, absorbing the knowledge that Boorstein imparts. I've been reading on and off for over a year now. Only 20 pages to go.
